The Establishment Of This Local Central Body As A Subordinate Unit Of The American Federation Of Labor And Congress Of Industrial Organizations Is An Expression Of The Desire Of The Unions In This Community To Participate Fully In The Achievement Of The Objectives Of The Parent Federation As It Seeks To Fulfill The Hopes And Aspirations Of The Working People Of All America. We Seek The Fulfillment Of These Hopes And Aspirations Through Democratic Processes And By Vigorous Action Within The Framework Of Our Constitutional Government And Consistent With Our Institutions And Traditions. At The Collective Bargaining Table, In The Community, In The Exercise Of The Rights And Responsibilities Of Citizenship, We Shall Serve Our Members And The Interests Of All The American People.
