Harvest Cares Is Dedicated To Partnering Lacrosse With Monroe And Surrounding Counties And Their Community Based Organizations. Harvest Cares Uses Lacrosse As A Teaching Mechanism For Helping Student Athletes See The Value Of Owning Their Education, Living A Healthier Lifestyle, And Developing Life Skills For Successful College And Career Readiness. For Students Who Have Demonstrated Unruly Behavior In The Classroom, Lacrosse Has Helped To Instill Discipline And Respect. In Addition To That, Harvest Cares Uses Collegiate Athletes That Play Lacrosse As A Means To Achieve A Higher Education As Role Models For Students That May Typically Idolize Athletes In Sports Such As Basketball Or Football, That Skip Several Years Of College In Order To Become A Professional. Children In Low-Income Areas And The Inner City Lack Exposure To Lacrosse Due To Cultural Barriers, A Lack Of Playing Fields, Cost Of Equipment And School Funded Lacrosse Programs.
